A tragic incident occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, when a 27-year-old man, Tiago Caron, was discovered dead along a rural road near the Sol Nascente neighborhood in Chapada dos Guimarães, approximately 65 km from Cuiabá, Mato Grosso.

According to the Civil Police, the victim was wearing a long-sleeved yellow shirt and shorts and had multiple injuries caused by a sharp weapon to the chest and neck. The body was found by a local resident passing by near his property, who immediately contacted authorities.
Forensic teams from Politec (Forensic Science Institute) and the Legal Medical Institute (IML) arrived at the scene to conduct a full examination and collect evidence. The body was later transferred to the IML in Cuiabá for a detailed autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The Homicide and Protection Unit (DHPP) has launched an investigation to identify the perpetrator and the motive behind the crime. No suspects have been apprehended yet. Authorities are exploring several possibilities, including execution-style killing or personal conflicts.
